Need A Lawyer? (805) 650-7599

Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) is a State Bar of California certified program (Certificate No. 0059) and the American Bar Association.  Depending on your legal issue, your referral may be FREE. Otherwise, for a one time fee of $35 the Service will provide callers with the name of an attorney who will provide a consultation or the Service will set up the appointment for you.  The interview is an opportunity for the prospective client to explain the general nature of the legal problem and for the attorney to explain his or her fee structure and to determine if the case is one he or she wishes to pursue.  The attorneys on our Service are in good standing with the State Bar of California, are required to carry malpractice insurance and have been reviewed and approved by the LRIS Advisory Committee.

About LRIS Attorneys
All LRIS attorneys charge fees. LRS attorneys do not provide free, pro bono legal services. Every LRIS attorney has proven that he or she is qualified in a particular area of law practice and has met many qualifications standards. The LRIS can refer clients to an attorney in just about every area of law practice and in many different language and location requirements (limited to Ventura County).

Our ABA accreditation and State Bar certification (#0059) lend credibility and clients referred through the service are more comfortable knowing they receive a reliable referral through an established service. The VCBA LRIS has been serving residents since 1959 and is a community-based program which serves as a conduit, connecting the public by placing them in touch with qualified and experienced lawyers specializing in various areas of the law. The LRIS can help you build your practice and provide a public service at the same time. Members of the LRIS appreciate the pre-screened referrals enabling them to save time and money. The extensive marketing efforts of LRIS work to an attorney’s advantage by bringing more calls to our phone lines and a greater number of clients for referral to LRIS members. By participating on LRIS panels you contribute to VCBA’s public service programs such as Court Tour Program for middle school and high school students and the county Mock Trials Competition.

Attorney-Client Fee Arbitration Program

Fee arbitration gives a client the opportunity to resolve a fee dispute with his or her attorney efficiently, and without the necessity and expense of hiring a second attorney. The VCBA Fee Arbitration Program will appoint a neutral arbitrator to decide the appropriate amount of attorney’s fees for professional services. Fee arbitration is mandatory for the lawyer if the client elects to have the dispute resolved through the fee arbitration program.
